STRATEGY AND ENGAGEMENT
Her experience includes leading Raleigh-Durham International Airport's public outreach program in the aftermath of September 11, developing media outreach strategies that informed and gained public understanding and support. She also led the airport's communications efforts for a $1 billion, 10- year improvement program, developing an outreach and media strategy that garnered attention in The New York Times, USA Today, Travel and Leisure and countless stories in local broadcast and print media.
She has also led the public relations efforts for IT companies and nonprofit organizations, crafting strategies designed to tell their stories and drive sales and donations.
MEDIA RELATIONS & TRAINING
As a public relations professional, Hamlin possesses extensive experience crafting media-worthy pitches to national, trade and local media. She has conducted hundreds of interviews for print, broadcast and radio and has honed her skills through professional media training, including the completion of FEMA’s advanced course for public information officers.
Drawing on this experience, she has designed media and presentation training courses for executives and managers, providing them skills and tools to ensure their messages are communicated clearly to reporters and other key stakeholders.
Hamlin has also taught at the college level, introducing future practitioners to the art of PR.
