Portfolio for Mindy Hamlin
Media Relations

In 2021, Mindy took on a personal project, pitching a story inspired by her mother-in-law's family history, a compelling WWII story about the musical instruments that bind a family together.
Hamlin's efforts resulted in an article in the local Walter Magazine, as well as a segment on the region's most popular television station, WRAL.

Video Production
When COVID-19 forced the non-profit Housing for New Hope to re-imagine one of its major fundraisers as a virtual event, Mindy Hamlin drove donations through strategic media outreach.
Here, one of the region's leading news channels interviews a client who, through her story, illustrates how the organization helps those experiencing homelessness find housing. The story increased activity on the site and drove donations weeks after the event.

RDU T2 Video
At Raleigh-Durham International Airport, Mindy Hamlin executed a multi-year communications program to promote the airport's $1B terminal development project.
When the project was completed, Mindy wrote the script and led the art direction for a video that communicated the driving message behind the campaign: the project was reflective of and for the region.

As part of the North Carolina Biotechnology Center's efforts to build a workforce pipeline for the state's growing life sciences companies, Mindy wrote a series of profiles that appeared on the website WRALTechwire. Links to a few of the stories are below.
A mother's journey to a new career

For more than 30 years, the non-profit Housing for New Hope has been finding housing for those in Durham experiencing homelessness. However, not many people knew about the organization. To grow the organization's visibility, Mindy created a branding and messaging program that is used across channels.
This program included an Instagram campaign, designed by Mindy, highlighting move-ins each week.
Preparing for Crisis

When the Saint Lucia Air and Ports Authority wanted to train its executive team to act as Port spokesmen, it turned to Hamlin Communications.
Mindy led a hands-on training that focused on the development of persuasive key messages and talking points. The training included a crisis news conference on camera that provided all participants the chance to practice and hone their interview skills.
Crisis Communication and Content Development

One of Mindy's contributed articles to Ragan Daily outlines ten steps organizations can take if they do not have a written, formalized crisis plan in place. The article originally appeared on Mindy's blog before appearing on the respected public relations website.
